Taychreggan Hotel rests on the shores of Loch Awe in Argyll. The longest fresh water loch in Scotland stretches out before you with the majestic Highland mountains you are spoiled you photograph backgrounds. The sunsets can be breathtaking.

Taychreggan started out as a drover’s inn over 300 years ago. Now you can enjoy modern luxuries in the much extended original inn. Many of the 18 bedrooms have been recently renovated creating fabulous loch view Junior Suites and a two room Master Suite complete with a Jacuzzi bath tub big enough for two!!

At Taychreggan we don’t have packages for you to fit your dreams into. This will be your special day and we fit around you. So, you can pick the drinks you want on offer to your guests, which canapés, the Wedding meal, wine etc.

For your special day, whether it be a small intimate occasion for only two or something larger, we have the setting for you. You also have the choice to hold your ceremony indoors or outdoors on the loch’s edge. We have many local and nationals suppliers which we frequently work with from pipers, flowers, cakes to ceilidhs and fireworks.

Scottish Weddings There are two categories of Marriage in Scotland: civil and religious, both types of Scottish wedding ceremonies can be performed at Taychreggan. Taychreggan also holds civil partnership and renewal of vow ceremonies.

Exclusive Use We ask all groups with numbers above 20 to take exclusive use, allowing our staff to fully attend to your group’s needs. Taking exclusive use of the hotel creates a wonderful atmosphere amongst your guests as they mingle and unwind with only the guests you have invited. Exclusive use allows you to plan your day with no restrictions to timings or locations and have complete privacy. Taychreggan can easily house up to 130 guests for your reception without anyone standing on toes (except on the dancefloor!). Our restaurant can cater for up to 70 people.

Food & Drink Our Restaurant has consistently been awarded two rosettes from The AA for our five course fine dining menu. You will receive nothing less on your wedding day. Our head chef Colin Cairns has created delicious dishes for you to select from. We serve a set five course menu to all of your guests (except vegetarians and those with allergies) from only £45.00 per person. When taking exclusive use you can select your own menu and we can recommend complimenting wines.

Our extensive wine list features new and old world wines and starts from £18.95 per bottle for our House White, Red and Rose. Champagne, Prosseco and Sparkling Wine are also available. Our Bar stocks an impressive range of Malt Whiskies from every corner of Scotland as well as the usual spirits, beers and ales. We even have a range of Oban brewed beer!

House & Grounds Taychreggan has the atmosphere of a private country house, rather than a hotel. With 18 bedrooms of various sizes and shapes we can accommodate up to 36 people. Some of our rooms can fit extra beds for children or cots. Most of our bedrooms have loch views and some have four poster beds, king beds, twin beds etc. There is a room to suit everyone! Directions

Taychreggan is located in the West Highlands in a beautiful corner of Argyll. It is magnificently positioned on its own bay and looks down Loch Awe.

A. From Glasgow to Taychreggan is approximately 88 miles and will take 2 to 2½ hours depending on road traffic conditions. From Glasgow, follow the M8 (Greenock) and signs for the Erskine Bridge. When you cross the bridge, turn left, following the signpost for Crianlarich. You travel along side of bonnie Loch Lomond then, when you reach Tarbet you have two options:

1. Go straight on, following the signs for Arrochar and Inveraray. Follow the road to Inveraray where you should turn right (through the archway) onto the A819, signed to Oban.

2. Turn right heading for the A82 Crianlarich. At Crianlarich you will turn left on to the A85 Oban road.

One mile east before the village of Taynuilt, turn left onto the B845 signposted to Kilchrenan. We are seven miles down this road. It is a single track road, so please use passing places to permit other cars to overtake.

B. From Edinburgh to Taychreggan is approximately 118 miles and will take you 2½ to 3 hours, depending on road traffic conditions. From Edinburgh, follow the M9 to Stirling. From Stirling, follow the A84, through Callander and Lochearnhead. After Lochearnhead you take the A85 signposted for Crianlarich / Oban. Then follow as per Glasgow directions.

C. From Oban to Taychreggan is approximately 20 miles. Take the A85 heading towards Taynuilt and Dalmally. At Taynuilt, turn right onto the B845--signposted Kilchrenan --and follow this road 7 miles until it dead-ends at the hotel.

If you are not traveling by car, take a look at the air, rail and bus timetables; please note there are additional airlines flying into Glasgow and all schedules are subject to change.
