Directions by road

At the end of the M8 motorway join the A8 and follow the signs for Edinburgh city centre. On approaching Princes Street turn right at the traffic lights on to Lothian Road, then take the first turning on the right, directly in front of the Caledonian Hilton Edinburgh hotel. The journey from Junction 1 of the M8 to the hotel usually takes around 40 minutes.

Directions by rail

Waverley Train Station is located on the opposite end of Princes St, half a mile from the hotel.  A 15 minute walk along or a short taxi ride.

Local places of interest

The Caledonian Hilton, situated in the heart of the city centre is surrounded by tourist places to suit all interests.  For the arty, there are a number of Muse Galleries/Museums within walking distance from the hotel.  For the energetic, try a 3 mile walk around Arthur’s seat or 18-holes at one of Edinburgh’s Golf Courses.  For the brave, Edinburgh’s notorious Ghost Tours are a must!  For the shopaholics, you have Princes St on your doorstep packed with the latest trends.  And who can forget, Edinburgh’s focal point, the Castle that you can admire from your own bedroom window!  Whatever you decide to do and wherever you decide to go, finish your evening off in the Caley Bar with a ‘nip’ of the finest Scottish Whiskey.
