Directions by road
Channings enjoys
a quiet location, but can still call itself a
Edinburgh centre hotel. Set on a cobbled street
overlooking private gardens, yet is only a 10 minute
walk from the west end, where you can explore the
city's many tourist attractions, such as Princes
Street, the main shopping area overlooking Edinburgh
Castle.
Should you wish
to stay very close to home, our Edinburgh City Hotel
is just a short stroll from the very fashionable
area of Stockbridge, often described as a 'village
within the city'. Relax and unwind as you enjoy the
vibrant cafe-culture that has developed and wander
through the many one of a kind boutiques and
galleries which have emerged in recent years, making
this one of Edinburgh's trendiest areas.
Directions - From
A1
Coming off the A1
follow signs to Edinburgh City Centre where you will
end up at the East end of Princes Street, at the top
of Leith Walk. Once you go past the Playhouse
Theatre on your left hand side take a right onto
York Place at the next roundabout. Follow York Place
(which becomes Queen Street) until the end where you
will reach Ainslie Place - a crescent - whereby you
follow the road to the left until you get to
Randolph Crescent. Follow Randolph Crescent to the
left, turning right onto Queensferry Street. You
will cross The Dean Bridge, and then take the second
turn off on the right leading onto Dean Park
Crescent, take the first left which takes you onto
South Learmonth Gardens and Channings is about half
way along on the left.
Directions - From
the Airport

airport follow the signs for the Edinburgh city
centre. Once you go under an underpass, go straight
through at the junction which will take you onto
Glasgow Road (A8). You will see PC World on your
right-hand side, go straight over the round-about
and stay on this road for 3 miles. (During the 3
miles the road changes names several times, St Johns
Road, Costorphine Road, Roseburn Terrace then onto
Haymarket Terrace). As you get closer to the city
centre Haymarket train station will be on your
right-hand side. At the traffic lights after the
station go straight through. Stay in the left hand
lane as you approach the next set of lights. Turn
left onto Palmerston Place then turn right at the
traffic lights on Chester Street. Go to the end of
this road and take a left at the lights onto
Queensferry Street, this will take you across Dean
Bridge. Once across take the third right, which
takes you onto South Learmonth Avenue. This road
goes downhill then turns to the right, follow the
road round and Channings is 30m along on the
right-hand side.
Directions From
the North
