Castle Weddings in Scotland are very popular and Culcreuch Castle Hotel is one of those frequently chosen because:

Culcreuch is able to offer the whole wedding event virtually under one roof with almost exclusivity: Service, Wedding Meal, Ceilidh, AND accommodation.

Culcreuch has a dedicated Weddings Co-ordinator and warm, friendly staff.

Culcreuch is sometimes called the "Fairytale Castle" and is surely one of the most romantic wedding venues in Scotland.

As proof of this, couples come from all over the world to Scotland for their wedding at Culcreuch Castle Hotel, and no wonder - it's a unique and romantic setting for your once in a lifetime event.

Our Wedding Office offers expert advice on the legalities of having a castle wedding in Scotland and, if you wish, will plan and carry out your arrangements to the letter.

Your Scottish wedding ceremony can be in the nearby registry office, the local kirk or at Culcreuch Castle itself.

In Summer, weather permitting, you might have the ceremony in the grounds of the Castle with a piper playing in the distance to provide that authentic Scottish atmosphere.

Or picture a Scottish Castle Wedding in Winter, with log fires blazing in the magnificent Laird's Hall of Culcreuch Castle Hotel, the oldest inhabited castle in Central Scotland.

Scotland's Culcreuch Castle Hotel is truly unique as a wedding venue. Couples come from all over the world to be married at this, Central Scotland's oldest inhabited castle.

As the proud focal point of 1,600 acre Culcreuch Estate, and overlooking its own private loch, Culcreuch Castle Hotel is a magical setting to make your wedding day especially memorable.

The Culcreuch Castle Hotel building dates from the 14th century, yet offers up-to-date accommodation and facilities, with superb 3-star customer service.

Your Wedding Party and guests can choose to stay in one of the ten elegant Castle bedrooms, some with four poster beds, or in the four Courtyard Rooms close by, all with en-suite facilities.

Local Places of Interest

  • At Pots of Gartness, near Killearn, at certain times of the year you can see salmon leaping up a waterfall to spawn.
  • Loup of Fintry is a spectacular 94-ft waterfall of the River Endrick, just two miles from Fintry village on the B818 road.
  • Glengoyne Distillery, near Killearn on the A81. Tours, tasting and nosing sessions, plus a heritage room devoted to Scotland's national drink.
  • Fishing on the Culcreuch Estate. There's free fishing for wild carp in our own loch, or you can go for trout and salmon in the River Endrick. We can arrange permits, as required.
  • Golf. Choose from the local 9 hole course at Balfron to world-famous championship courses at Gleneagles and St Andrew's.
  • Hillwalking is very popular in this area and starts just outside the Castle door here in the Campsie Fells. Travel 40 minutes by car and you are in shot of three munros, which is to say a mountain over 3,000 ft.
  • For Walking and Cycling, the less strenuous Campsie Trail links the villages of Fintry, Kippen, Gargunnock, Balfron and Lennoxtown.
  • Or why not just GoApe at the David Marshall Lodge near Aberfoyle, only a few miles from Culcreuch. Go on, you know you want to.....
