Falkland Palace

Falkland, Cupar, Fife, KY15 7BU

The most important day of your life can never be too grand, too precious, too spectacular or too special. Imagine your wedding in the grounds of a palace full of history and grandeur, romance and intrigue that will only inspire your guests and impress beyond all belief. Picture your perfect day taking place in our enchanting palace grounds, have a day unlike any other and leave you and your guests with wonderful lifelong memories.

For centuries Falkland Palace lay at the very heart of Scotland's history. A favourite retreat of successive generations of the Stuart Kings and Queens including Mary, Queen of Scots and King James IV, it lies in the heart of its own royal burgh only 20 minutes from the famous St Andrews. Nestled at the foot of the Lomond Hills, Falkland Palace is a venue of pure majesty.

Rising from the ruins of an early medieval castle, Falkland Palace, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, became one of the most important royal residences in Scotland. Dominating the picturesque village of Falkland, it boasts the perfect place to have that very special occasion. Enter through the imposing gatehouse to a grand, impressive Palace and marvel at the surrounding grounds filled with formal lawns, flowerbeds and an ancient orchard. Fulfil childhood dreams of marrying in this exceptionally beautiful palace. The Chapel Royal is simply breathtaking and an exquisite setting for Roman Catholic wedding ceremonies for up to 70 guests. Additional rooms within the Palace can accommodate very intimate religious, civil or humanist wedding ceremonies for up to 12 guests and of course our grounds are ideal for bridal party photographs.

Should you wish to entertain a larger number of guests, a 'Royal Marquee' for up to 300 guests, can be raised in the Palace orchard, set against the beautiful backdrop of Falkland and the Lomond Hills. It’s simply stunning.

We have turned wedding planning and organisation into an art. Whether it is a formal breakfast, a buffet or a more intimate party, our Wedding Designer will make all the arrangements leaving you relaxed and free to enjoy your day.

We can help you arrange beautiful flowers, create the most gorgeous table themes and serve simply sumptuous food… we can even write the invitations and provide the music to get the celebration into full swing. Organised but unobtrusive, stylish but not over-stated, we have the experience and expertise to make your wedding day go like a dream.

Wedding Testimonial

"Thank you so much for all your work on the wedding day and to the lead up, it was a massive success and a big part was how smooth the ceremony went at the Palace! The staff were well prepared and everyone was suitably jolly by the time they left the palace! Bryony we just wanted to let you know how pleased Gill and I are about the part you played in your role as an event designer."
