Introduction
Glenavon is centrally located on the edge of the
town of Linlithgow, an area steeped in history.
The
house is a true example of classic Victorian
architecture. It was constructed in an era when
people would travel and gather inspiration from all
over the world and evidence of many architectural
styles can be found on display. Spires, gabled
windows, turrets and curious carvings decorate the
exterior.
Three
acres of beautiful gardens stretch from the venue lawn down to the River Avon.
Abundant with mature trees and shrubs, the grounds
are beautiful in any season and make a wonderful
backdrop for your wedding photographs.
Voted 'Best Victorian House' by UKTV Style's Perfect
Properties programme, March 2005

Local places of interest
Linlithgow is a very pretty market town in West
Lothian, Scotland.
The area grew to prominence because of its position,
roughly half way between Edinburgh Castle and
Stirling Castle, together with its proximity harbour
facilities on the River Forth at Blackness
A wonderful location for weddings is Linlithgow
Palace, built by James I and his successors on a
magnificent loch-side location.
The birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, the Palace
was left in ruins by Government troops pursuing
Bonnie Prince Charlie in January 1746
