Our aim at Glencorse House is to give you a
completely exclusive wedding venue and personal
service far removed from the usual hotel package –
our overriding wish being that every aspect of your
day is as special and memorable as possible.
Glencorse House is offered on a completely exclusive
basis.
Your reception will take place in a beautiful
marquee on one of the lawns adjoining Glencorse
House – this is tastefully lined and furnished and
has a feature bay window and solid wooden floor.
The Kirk at Glencorse House
Nestled in the foothills of the Pentlands stands
Glencorse Old Kirk – the most romantic setting
imaginable for a wedding ceremony. The Kirk stands
in the grounds of Glencorse House which offers a
magnificent location for your wedding reception and
with its lush parkland, lake and verdant
rhododendrons provides an idyllic backdrop for
stunning photography.
Glencorse Old Kirk dates back to the 17th century
and the famous Scottish writer Robert Louis
Stevenson worshiped there and indeed wrote about the
Kirk and its woodland setting on a number of
occasions.
“If my spirit returns to earth it will be found
wandering through Glencorse Woods or sitting on the
old bridge at Glencorse Kirk, the finest spot on
earth”.
The Kirk holds approximately 130 people and has been
carefully and beautifully restored to make it into a
very private and intimate venue for your wedding
ceremony.

and then very shortly the Fisher's Tryst pub.
Directly opposite this take the road to the right

round corner and to the bottom of hill - you have
arrived! These are short distances and only about 2
miles from Ikea.
From Biggar Follow for Edinburgh A702 from junction 13 of
the A74(M). Three miles beyond the hamlet of
Silverburn is the ‘Flotterstone Inn’ 550m beyond the

turn in the road.
