weddings
or
private
celebrations.
Whilst
we
have
hosted
many
intimate,
small
weddings,
occasionally
with
only
the
Bride
and
Groom,
we
have
also
had
celebrations
with
up
to
as
many
as
300
guests.
We
can
provide
overnight
accommodation
for
up
to
30;
local
hotels
within
15
minutes
cater
for
additional
guests.
Privacy
is
assured
through
exclusive
booking
and
rates
are
surprisingly
competitive.
A
special
ambience
is
captured
in
the
period
furniture,
paintings
and
antiques
throughout
each
room
of
the
castle.
Many
couples
plan
to
have
their
service
outside
in
our
stunning
walled
garden;
alternatively
we
have
our
own
delightful
chapel
or
we
have
also
used
some
of
the
main
public
rooms
for
small
civil
weddings.
Guthrie
village
church
sits
right
outside
our
eastern
gate.

"I proposed to Sarah
while we were held over in Tenerife; stranded on
holiday because of the volcanic ash cloud grounding
all commercial aircraft. When we returned she said I
had to plan the wedding and she would “turn up with
the dress”. We looked at a range of possibilities
but because of various complications on both sides I
finally suggested we elope. Sarah agreed on one
condition: it could be small but it had to be
special. The Guthrie Castle “Just for two” wedding
package was very special. Everything during our
two-day stay exceeded our expectations: the
chauffeur-driven collection from the airport; the
warmth of the welcome when we arrived; the Castle’s
stunning interiors and exteriors; the quality of the
service; the performance of the piper; the
assistance and friendliness of the Guthrie Castle
team. Of course once I had shown the Castle’s
internet site to Sarah she was too excited not to be
involved in the planning! And that planning was made
so much easier by the package we were offered and
the information the Castle sent to us such as the
list of recommended photographers, beauticians,
hairdressers and florists. We arranged everything by
e-mail and telephone. Sarah turned up with her
dress, I turned up with my suit and we enjoyed one
of the best days of our lives so far. We are so
