"Dear
Caroline, Marcelle, & Entire Caves Staff — I
just wanted to offer the most sincere thank-you
for everything you did to make our wedding day
the most amazing and magical experience we could
have imagined! Everything went off without a
hitch and that was almost totally due to the
dedication and hard work put in by your entire
team! Planning a wedding from a different
country can be a very stressful experience, but
working with you made the entire process
incredibly easy and stress free! You always
responded to my e-mails extremely efficiently
and were very helpful with any issues that came
up. I want to thank-you for going out of your
way to help with things like suggesting a hair &
make-up artist, bagpiper, photographer, etc. I
know these are not your normal responsibilities,
but they were extremely helpful and we can't
thank-you enough for everything you did for us
on our special day. All of our guests were
incredibly impressed with The Caves...both
because it is such a unique and beautiful venue,
but also because of the very impressive staff!
Our wedding day was perfect and I wouldn't
hesitate for a second to recommend The Caves to
any other couple that is planning a wedding in
Edinburgh! The food was delicious, staff was
friendly, and everything was perfectly
orchestrated!!! Thank-you again for everything
you did for us--it was perfect from start to
finish!"
"Dear
Marcelle and Caroline, Just a huge thank you to
you both for helping us so much towards such a
fantastic wedding day. The venue was perfect and
everything that we wanted. The atmosphere made
the venue so special. The decorations were
perfect Caroline so thank you for making such
fantastic and careful use of the ivy, and
the groups of candles and lanterns around looked
amazing. The tables were perfect. The food was
also very lovely, we especially enjoyed the
starter and nearly every1 ate the haggis and
really enjoyed it (most of our English relatives
had never tried it). The roast in the
evening tasted amazing and certainly provided
a talking point and all the guests certainly
tucked in. The wine also was so lovely but
especially the sav. blanc which actually was
noticed by all, you were right in your
recommendations with the extra special wines and
also on choosing the prosecco, which also was
much much nicer than a champagne. All our guests
absolutely loved the venue, almost everyone
commented on how lovely it was and a lot of our
guests said it was one of the best weddings they
had ever been to. THANK YOU SO
MUCH for providing such a fantastic venue for
what actually was a totally perfect day and one
which we will never ever forget" Lisa and James, Civil Ceremony,

HEAD CHEF OF THE AWARD-WINNING
ATRIUM JOINS THE CAVES
He was at the helm of one of
Scotland’s multi-award winning and iconic
restaurants that picked up coveted industry
accolades including Best Restaurant of the Year,
Chef of the Year and Edinburgh Restaurant of the
Year. Now, The Atrium’s former head chef Colin
Grieve has moved his culinary flair and expertise to
another Edinburgh institution – The Caves.
The Caves is an
exciting, truly unique and atmospheric venue
situated deep in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town.
The multiple possibilities of the space mean that we
can guarantee that your Wedding will be a truly
memorable experience. All aspects of your Big Day
are possible, from the ceremony right through to the
evening do. In order create that special Big Day for
you we have split our weddings into two packages
which are dependent on numbers attending.
Smaller more intimate
wedding parties for up to 60 day guests and 110
evening guests, are held in the
Rowantree. Steeped
in history and fabulously cozy this is a great venue
for more personal weddings. The Rowantree is
licensed for civil, humanist, religious and hand
fasting ceremonies.
Larger weddings of 60
to 130 day guests and up to 450 evening guests are
held in the Caves. This unique venue makes up the
sub-structure of the 18th Century South Bridge,
there is no venue more Edinburgh than the Caves. Or
more Scottish than Scottish if you consider there
was once so much Whisky stored here that it became
known as "Whisky Row".
Every room has a story
to tell and a special place in Scottish history -
from vaults that served as the stables to the French
Cavalry who were at one time body guards to the
Royal Family, to remains of the houses that pre-date
the Bridge itself - with the original terracotta
floor tiles still intact! This amazing and
fantastically unique venue will wow your guests and
is licensed for civil, humanist, religious and hand
fasting ceremonies.

Testimonials/Reviews
"Hey Caroline, Bruce and I would just
like to take this opportunity to thank
you and your Team again for an
absolutely beautiful and flawless day.
We appreciate all your help and efforts
from the organising to the actual date.
The Guests are still talking about The
Rowantree and everyone had a fabulous
time. The dinner was delicious and the
whole atmosphere was perfect. Anyway,
again many many thanks. Even if I had
had a limitless budget I would not have
looked further than yourselves, The
Rowantree is just beautiful.

"Hi Marcelle, THANK YOU so very much for all
your help on Friday. You were amazing, you
accommodated all our random requests so well.
The place looked and smelt lovely and I really
appreciated you putting all my little scented
things around the place and what you did with
the acorns and hearts and table things was
gorgeous! I loved it all so much.
We had a really wonderful day, thank you for all
your help and little touches.
Everyone has been raving about the food, it was
exceptional. My mum commented that it was by
far the best wedding food she had ever had.
Thank you for catering to our many dietary
requirements, please thank the chef for the
extra work with the meringues, they were
delicious !
You were so kind and sweet to my dad and I when

"James &
Tracey Gilmour would like to thank Caroline for
all her help and advice on the approach to their
wedding on 27th October 2011. Caroline was
invaluable, nothing was too much trouble for her
and she was able to advise us even down to a
hairdresser for my bridal party. The venue of
The Caves was just wonderful, our party thought
it was a brilliant venue for a wedding. Every
member of our party commented on how wonderful
the food was at the wedding breakfast and our
compliments must go to the chef. Thank you once
again for making our day so special."
