Wedding Reviews

A definite "go to" venue for weddings!

"It was our daughter's wedding a few days ago. In her words "it was much more than I could have imagined"! The venue was romantically ideal and even though the weather wasn't particularly kind, it didn't really matter because of the wonderful setting. The staff and service was second-to-none... everything was dealt with so smoothly and with apparent ease. William and staff were outstanding... nothing was too much bother. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent. The diversity and quality of the rooms really suited all our family needs. Thank you to all at the Sherbrooke for a truly memorable experience!"

Wedding of our Dreams :)

"Myself and my beautiful new bride recently had the pleasure of having our wedding ceremony and reception at this amazing venue and we were both unbelievably happy with how special and amazing a day it was.

The Venue has the perfect mix of Historic Beauty (it is a castle of course lol) and modern convenience that made for a unique and one of a kind day for us. The Grounds and outer parts of the venue are perfectly kept and at night lit to an amazing effect. Making for some truly great photographs. The interior has an old fashioned manor feel to it while still retaining modern conveniences such as the bar and consevatory areas that feel fresh and yet look classical.

The Venue hall was large and spacious and the staff carried out an unbelievably good job at making it look amazing. Not only for the ceremony itself but for the dinner and reception afterwards also.

The staff were nothing but kind and helpfull and a special mention has to go to William for all his hard work and assistance in making our day perfect.

I cannot thank you all enough for making our special day perfect.

I thoroughly recommend this location to any future wedding lookers."

"We had our wedding at Sherbrooke this year, on Friday 25th September. We had originally visited and booked almost 2 years prior to this. For anyone considering wedding venues, I can honestly say that this should be in your shortlist. From the moment we had the initial meeting with staff to discuss availability etc, we were treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism from all staff.

The Sherbrooke setting is very attractive indeed, and internally there is a real combination of period features you would expect from such a building, and also a modern touch of class in the restaurant and bar. On arrival you can feel that this is a hotel which is very well run to high standards.

On our first visit, we had our two very young children (under 2 years old) with us, and we were a little apprehensive as whilst we were discussing things, the kids were causing all sorts of mayhem and running / crawling about. Instantly, the owner came over to us and reassured us that the kids were in his house now and they were being no trouble at all. This typifies the attitude and warmth we have received from all staff.

So, moving forward a little, I can say that throughout the wedding preparation process the staff were very helpful and attentive to any of out requests, and really did take the stress out of things. Whenever we called or contacted them, they would respond to us quickly and were very accommodating.

To the wedding day itself, well what can we say - the day was run like clockwork by a very professional, well oiled machine (a few of the guests may have been well oiled too, but that's another story..). The timings had been provisionally agreed in advance and on the day just about everything went to plan. The only slight issue with timings was that our speeches ran on slightly, but even this wasn't an issue for the hotel to deal with in their management of the day.

The food on the day, and the service was fantastic. I can honestly say that every one of the guests there complemented the hotel and staff greatly to us and a considerable amount said it was the best wedding they had been to.
At this point I'd like to say a particular thanks to our wedding coordinator, William without whom I don't think it would have been the same. Acting also as MC, he ensured that it was all running to plan and that everyone was happy.

The bridal party and some guests stayed in the Hotel overnight and we all agreed that the quality of the rooms was excellent. The rooms are large and well furnished in the manner you would expect from a period property.

So, if you're considering somewhere to stay in the Glasgow area and are looking for a little luxury then this has to be a contender.
As I said to the owner in the morning, If I was getting married again, I'd be back!

Thanks again Sherbrooke for a wonderful day" Scott & Julie Macphail
