Balbirnie is a Grade A listed Georgian country mansion house, located between Edinburgh and St. Andrews by the village of Markinch in the heart of Fife.

Situated within a beautifully landscaped 400 acre park, the venue lends itself as host for the perfect wedding at outstanding value.

The delightful ambience of the old house, combines with our newly refurbished Ballroom to provide a fabulous venue which can accommodate gatherings of any size from 70-216.

The house plays host to special events in all shapes and sizes but with one thing in common – a tradition of personal service. Each and every wedding is quite individual and as such we discuss every wedding on a one to one basis with respective Balbirnie brides, grooms and parents. During your stay at Balbirnie, you will be accommodated in one of our individually designed bedrooms, each quite unique in style and character. For a special stay, you may wish to enjoy one of our deluxe rooms or suites, many of which have enormous rooms with large comfortable beds and magnificent views over the gardens. "From our initial visit to Balbirnie all of the the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special! Although there are many weddings every month you are made to feel like your wedding is the only wedding that year. Attention to detail is incredible and Christine’s enthusiasm and passion for weddings made wedding planning easy and stress free, nothing was ever too much for her and she went above and beyond to make our day perfect. On the day Erdal made sure everything was in place and his attention to detail ensured our day went without a glitch (or at least we are unaware of any) again nothing was every too much, he was always on hand and his hard work along with Christine’s hardwork in the months before gave us the truely perfect wedding day! Kerries personal and caring manner shone through and just made us feel so special. We stayed for 2 nights with family and friends and enjoyed a meal the evening before the wedding and all our guests have commented on how friendly, welcoming and helpful all staff at Balbirnie are and of course how stunning the venue and grounds are! The perfect wedding venue x"

"We recently got married at Balbirnie. What. A. Day! It was absolutely unbelievable, hands down the day of our lives.

The staff at Balbirnie are amazing, nothing was too much trouble, and they were on hand throughout the night to make sure everything was perfect for us.

We had an Indian wedding with over 200 guests and Christine and her team helped us to decorate everything, set up the stage, and served delicious Indian food. It was incredible.

There was a real buzz amongst out guests and Balbirnie is the perfect combination of a stunning beautiful hotel, with a relaxed and really fun atmosphere. The party came to an end at about 4.30am and both we and our guests just wish it could have continued longer!

Would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back!
