Cringletie weddings in a nutshell

Cringletie is located in the rolling countryside of the Scottish Borders, near the pretty market town of Peebles. Only 30 minutes’ drive from the exciting city of Edinburgh, and well connected to the rest of the UK by rail from Edinburgh, and to the rest of the world via Edinburgh’s International airport.

We hold large weddings for up to 70 guests and smaller weddings for a select few. We can offer the entire castle for ‘exclusive use’ or just keep your chosen rooms private for you and your guests. The choice is yours.

Our conservatory is a popular choice for the official ceremony or if weather permits what could be nicer than an open air service in the garden. We even offer a red carpet arrival should you wish to make an entrance!

You may prefer a religious ceremony and we can help you choose from a selection of very picturesque and friendly local churches of all denominations.

Should you wish we can serve drinks and canapés on the lawn, in the conservatory, or the lounge whilst you make the most of the photo opportunities around the hotel and gardens for your wedding album.

We pride ourselves on our reputation for good food and a wedding is an occasion for us to shine.

The Restaurant makes a truly romantic setting for dinner with its hand painted ceiling and views across open countryside.

Classic Rooms
Our standard rooms come in a variety of styles and shapes and have beds varying from double to twin to superking. All have a seating area with settee or two tub chairs.

Luxury rooms
The luxury rooms are larger and they too come in a variety of styles and shapes with beds varying in size from king, to twin to superking. There is a seating area with a settee or two easy chairs.

Junior suites
These are the largest rooms in the House with spacious seating areas. In this category we offer a superking four-poster room, and three rooms with superking beds that can be twinned. One of those rooms is our fully accessible room.

Suites
We are proud to offer the discerning travellers our luxurious Selkirk suite consisting of lounge, separate bedroom and large bathroom. The bed is king with a superb bed drapery. The bathroom has a double ended Jacuzzi whirlpool and separate Jacuzzi shower. The t.v. is a novelty in this bathroom.

Directions

From Edinburgh/Edinburgh Airport
Via A720 (City of Edinburgh Bypass). Leave the Bypass for the A703 direction Biggar. At fork stay left for A703 to Peebles. Continue through Penicuik and Eddleston. Cringletie sign board on the right hand side of the road.

From the Newcastle area
Head for the A696 to Jedburgh. At Elishaw continue along the A68. Close to Melrose turn left onto A6061 direction Galashiels. At Galashiels take A72 direction Peebles. At Peebles roundabout turn right onto A703 direction Edinburgh. Cringletie is signposted after 2 miles.

From the Carlisle area
Take motorway M6/M74 direction Glasgow. Leave at exit 15 for Moffat, A701 scenic route to Edinburgh. At Drumelzier turn right onto B712 direction Peebles. Turn right onto A72. Through Peebles, at roundabout turn left onto A703 direction Edinburgh. Cringletie is signposted after 2 miles.
