Weddings Overview
Fingask Castle Weddings
Welcome to our much loved family home, where the Threiplands have lived for some 400 years. Here you can hold a party for up to 200+ guests in the prettiest pavilion in Scotland or have an intimate dinner in the castle’s old library with just the two of you.
Civil and religious ceremonies can be conducted in the small family chapel, the Amber room of the Pavilion, the Long Gallery or outside on one the impressive Ossian’ lawn. Then receive your guests for a drinks reception on the ground floor of the castle using the Old Library and drawing room and spilling out onto the fountain courtyard area.
The castle is set in one of Scotland’s great gardens, which make one side of a quiet glen just off the A90 Perth- Dundee road, and about 20 minutes from either, and about an hour from Edinburgh, and Glasgow. Fingask keeps the atmosphere of a private house. The Long Gallery on the castle’s first floor has been called ‘the prettiest room in Scotland’. The castle was modernised in the early 20th century for parties with its mirror lined walls and coffered ceilings. Up to 100 guests can be seated for a ceremony or seat up to 30 for dining and dancing.
At the end of the evening guests can make their way back to the self-catering cottages, where we can accommodate up to 70 people. These comfortable houses are all within strolling distance of both the castle and pavilion. For special guests and the bride and groom we have a bridal suite in the castle of three four-poster bedded rooms filled with ancient furniture and family portraits on the 2nd floor of the castle.
We also have 9 modern ‘pods’ the Potting sheds. Each pod is a twin bedded room with a very decent shower, and a very basic kitchen really consisting of a kettle. These pods cost £60/night each or £50/night if all 9 booked together.
Alternatively there is also the boat house, which has a sauna, and an (intimate) double bed, and a boat on which they can row around the lake (please wear life jackets!). The boat house gives the married couple lots of privacy.
The ancestors of the present owner were famed for their hospitality: the tradition continues…
