Situated in the Heart of Glagsow’s stylish West End, Òran Mór is a unique venue, licensed for a wedding ceremony, civil partnership, civil ceremony or reception. Within the converted church, the Auditorium and Gallery are both ideal for wedding ceremonies and the Private Dining Room can be used for more intimate wedding gatherings.

Beneath the celestial ceiling mural by Alasdair Gray, one of Scotland’s largest pieces of public art, guests can enjoy the fine Scottish food and impeccable service which has put us on the map as one of Glasgow’s leading venues.  Òran Mór offers a contemporary setting in which to hold weddings, whilst retaining many of the original features of the church.

From your initial inquiry through to the completion of your event, you will have one contact ensuring a personal and efficient service. We recognise that each wedding is unique with different requirements and, therefore, we offer complete flexibility including bespoke menus and an accommodating approach to any request.

As well as providing the perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs, Òran Mór is situated opposite the city’s beautiful Botanic Gardens.

The Auditorium

The Auditorium fuses architectural elegance with a sophisticated contemporary twist. Guests will marvel at the magnificent celestial ceiling mural, by Alasdair Gray, as well as many of the building’s original features.

Facilities include: private entrance, private bar, dedicated kitchen, disabled access and natural daylight.

The Gallery

Overlooking the Auditorium, the Gallery is ideal for smaller wedding ceremonies or blessings. It can also be used in conjunction with the Private Dining Room.

The Private Dining Room

This beautifully appointed room, with views over the Botanic Gardens, is ideal for intimate receptions and gatherings.

Facilities include: Sumptuous seating area, private bar and disabled access.

We wanted a small and intimate wedding that had character but at a reasonable price. Oran Mor delivered 100%

The food that was served both at the wedding dinner and evening reception was amazing and at a really reasonable price!

We viewed several venues prior to picking Oran Mor but found these locations to lack a special touch and their communication wasn’t great. Pauline Muir who is the wedding coordinator was with us from start to finish. Complete asset to the venue and was very attentive and calm throughout the whole process, nothing seemed too much hassle to her. Also, she listened to exactly what we wanted and didn’t push us into anything we didn’t want.

Any couple who is doubting picking this venue because they think it would be overpriced shouldn’t! We were pleasantly surprised!

“The quality and service was outstanding. The guests were raving about the place and had  a great time. The staff were so nice they couldn't do  enough. Every guest that had allergy/food intolerance (which ended up being quite a few) the kitchen got every meal spot on, even down to a sugar free desert request. There was a small child who we'd originally advised no meal required whose mother changed her mind on the day & the kitchen just brought her fish fingers without hesitation. Her mother was delighted! The event staff had all of the tables decorated exactly as i requested. Harpist set up, table turnaround, band set up it all went like clockwork. We really thought the service was amazing it's so busy for the couple on the day and to have everything running so smoothly meant we didn't have to worry about anything but ourselves. One of our guests said to me her daughter is getting married and it's all booked but she wished she had picked Oran Mor as the venue after our wedding. Quite a few said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to.”
