Welcome to Wedderlie House and grounds. We are a Scottish weddings and events venue located in the Scottish Borders available for exclusive or partial hire. Specialising in offering bespoke, unique and truly unforgettable experiences for a limited number of clients each year. Wedderlie House is located only thirty miles south of Edinburgh, thirty five from the airport and within an easy two hour drive of both Glasgow and Newcastle.

The main 16th Century mansion house and castle are set in a private sixty acre estate where guests can enjoy an entirely private experience surrounded by friends, family and colleagues. The estate offers accommodation for around 45 people spread between the main house, our cottage, the old stables and our cabins. The buildings can be rented individually for holidays or together as part of a unique Scottish castle wedding venue.

All events are tailored to the individual requirements of each couple or group. The average rental runs for two nights three days, allowing guests to properly catch up and relax in the stunning Borders’ countryside. Wedding Season

We offer weddings throughout the year, however have a cap on the amounts of weddings held so we can provide a truly exclusive and personal experience for each couple.

Accommodation

For exclusive use hire, the main house, The cottage, the hayloft, the two ceremony barns along with the grounds are all included. We also have a cabin on-site that can be rented by guests along with plenty of local options for additional bed space. Clients may choose to request guests pay a small rental for the convenience of staying onsite which can be used to offset other associated event costs.
