Combining Edinburgh’s finest history and City Chic lifestyle, The Glasshouse Hotel is the perfect venue to say ‘I do’ with a choice of five elegant spaces, each offering a unique setting for your big day. The Observatory is bathed in natural light and is perfect for ceremonies of up to 60 guests. Looking for a more intimate ceremony? Say your vows in The Henderson Gallery, which is set against the cast window of the original Lady Glenorchy Church holding up to 20 guests. For our pièce de resistance hosting up to 80 guests, hold your ceremony either on the lawn or under the pergola, followed by your Wedding Breakfast and Evening function in the Calton Suite. The two acre roof top garden features premier views of Calton Hill, offering the ultimate backdrop for your wedding photos.

A Walk Down the Aisle

With a variety of choices incorporating a lawn-set ceremony beside our romantic pergola, a vow exchange on the terrace overlooking the stunning Calton Hill, indoors within our observatory and its floor-to-ceiling windows, or our Henderson Gallery which is set against the vast window of the original Lady Glenorchy Church; the aisle you arrive down is really your choice.

Whether you have your heart set on a breath-taking rooftop ceremony or prefer something slightly more traditional in our stunning indoor spaces, we’re happy to accommodate your every need in our four distinct, dazzling and unique settings.

As well as our full-day wedding packages, we also offer a ceremony only option; starting from a personal bride & groom only affair, to a ceremony for up to 80 guests.

It’s Time to Eat, Drink and be Merry

Take a deep breath and relax; it is time for the celebrations to begin! Toast your newly wedded status with carefully chosen beverages and delicious canapés to whet your guest’s appetites, before your wedding breakfast is served. Our
brigade of expert Chefs have crafted a series of seasonal, locally sourced Scottish menus, providing the perfect culinary experience to your special day.

Once your evening guests arrive it’s time to dance the rest of the night away to your choice of DJs, live or Ceilidh bands.

We can comfortably cater for up to 80 guests for your wedding breakfast, and 110 guests for the evening reception.

Weddings are a blur of activity from dawn until dusk, so it’s reassuring to know that you have a luxurious, calming space waiting for you and your spouse at the end of your perfect day. Our romantic bedrooms and spacious suites boast every conceivable luxury; including round the clock service, floor to ceiling windows, a breath-taking balcony or access to our spectacular roof garden. All packages include a complimentary bridal suite for the couple, and discounted rates are available for wedding guests.

Our rooms either have a queen or twin beds with contemporary interiors accented with poppy reds and plums. Walnut veneers gives the clean-lined furniture a cossetting warmth, while by day, the floor-to-ceiling windows flood these well-priced, peaceful rooms with Edinburgh’s unique East Coast sunshine.

Directions by Road

The main motorways feeding Edinburgh are the M90 from Perth and Dunfermline, the M8 from Glasgow, the A1 from Newcastle and the M6 from Manchester and Carlisle. Glasshouse guests can take advantage of an exclusive 20% discount on parking at the adjacent Q-Park.

Directions By Air

Edinburgh Airport is a 30-minute taxi ride from the hotel. Alternatively you may wish to take the tram from the airport to the hotel.

Directions By Tram

The Glasshouse is located opposite York Place, the last tram stop on a 40-minute journey from the airport.

Directions By Rail

Edinburgh’s main railway station at Waverley is a short, direct five-minute walk from the hotel.
